Runa Loeberg

Postdoctoral Researcher

Runa is a postdoctoral researcher from Norway with a background in molecular biology and immunology. She completed her MSc at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where she studied properties of alginate gels for encapsulating insulin‑producing cells, and later earned her PhD at the University of Oslo investigating plasma cell formation in mouse models of celiac disease. After finishing her degree, she spent time as a visiting researcher in the laboratory of Dr. Brigida Rusconi, focusing on mucosal immunology in lactation and the role of regulatory B cells in pregnancy. Her research interests center on how B cells contribute to inappropriate immune responses, especially autoimmunity. Outside of work, Runa enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and camping, and indoors sewing and knitting.
